YOUTH
The Youth Ministry of UIC seek to reach out to the youth with the love of God as revealed to us in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Ministry also creates the platform for young people to participate in Church life, develop their own faith and God-given talents, lead the cause of Christ, and apply the values of Christ to every area of life. The Ministry defines “Youth” as “persons who are within the age bracket of twelve (12) and thirty five (35)”. The youth in UIC are grouped into two major sets Junior Youth Fellowship (12 to 18) Young Adults’ Fellowship (19 to 35)
As a Youth Ministry, our mission is to build the youth spiritually and physically together for in Christ we are one. Our goal is to bring the youth together to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, His people and His Church. This is simplify in our Motto; Youth ….. Together we serve To achieve the goal of together we serve, the youth ministry undertake series of programs and events with fun, faith and friendship. The following
ABC Life Seminar- This is an Academic, Business and Career life programs. It is aimed at building academic excellence, entrepreneur mind-set and career guidance
Bible Quiz: A trilled and interesting competition to testing the knowledge of the youth on God’s word.
Breaking Bread- This is welfare package to help the needy among us. it also as include visitation to our brethren in various SHS & Tertiary campuses.
Destiny Hour: A youth prayer meeting on every Wednesday from 4pm to 5:30pm. The purpose is to encourage the youth to pray into their destinies, our life and ministry.
First Love Outreach: This is an evangelism outreach to young people in our neighbourhood.
Fresher’s Night- This is a program to welcome fresher’s to join UIC. The program seek to share the Gospel with them and encourage them to join the brethren of UIC for fellowship while studying on UCC Campus.
Jumping Jacks for Jesus: Mentoring & Discipling Session; A training program to mentor and make Disciples of Christ among young one by the matured and elderly Christians in UIC.
Singles Mingle; This is an outing program to help the youth to know each other, prepare them for martial life and equipped with knowledge on relationship, sex and love.
What a WOW… This is a birthday surprise of gifts and party for the youth. The aim is to build fellowship among the youth.
Youth Forum: Is a platform that discusses current post-modernism issues relating to the youth and their Christian faith.
Youth Support Service- This is a support service to families in the Church to provide them with assistance in household chores and community work.
Youth Ministry team: The youth are grouped into teams to serve in the church according to their peculiar interests, abilities, gifts and talents. Some of the teams; Sanctuary Keepers, Up Lifters, Akwaaba team, Dramatic Arts Ministry, Media & IT Crew, Traffic & Security Unit, Ushers and Greeters The activities of the youth ministry is guide and supervise by a seven member board as “Council of Youth Patrons” See details Youth Policy…See Details.
